As we spend this Memorial Day weekend the calendar tells us that our 2007 AFN Reunion is just one month away.


This will  be your last call to join AFNers from all over America in Reno, Nevada for what is shaping up to be a great pre 4th of July weekend.

John Ascuaga’s Nugget is still accepting reservations at our group rate of $99 per night.  All you have to do is call the number above and ask for AFN Reunion and give them the dates.

Once into June the hotel will offer the group rate only as rooms remain available.

Attached is the reunion registration form. (SEE LINK AT BOTTOM OF PAGE)  Please fill it out and mail to me by 21 June.  You can email the form and mail the check later.  We are trying to give everyone who wants to come amble opportunity to attend.  No payments will be accepted in Reno unless arranged in advance. 

In a couple of weeks, I will send out a welcome letter to folks who have signed up with reunion details. 

Later this summer, I will send out information for our 2009 reunion and plans for the future. 

Among our latest speakers to sign up are veteran AFNer Gary Bautell, who will be representing AFN Europe Commander LTC Scott Malcom.  John Dedakis will be with us from CNN. 

They will join Dave Phillips and our after dinner speaker Nick Clooney.

Don’t forget our optional Lake Tahoe dinner cruise on Saturday 30 June and then our gala Legends Dinner on 1 July where we salute legendary AFNers from the mid 1950s back to founding of AFN in the 1940s.  12 AFNers will join our Legends Club that night.  Throughout the weekend we’ll hear their stories of their most memorable AFN memories. 

So take some time and sign up now for the AFN Reunion 2007.  We have a presidential suite for hospitality great friends coming, we’ll start off with a pool side reception on Friday night and there’s plenty of time to visit some of Reno’s famous gambling facilities as well. 

Please take some time to remember our fallen heroes this Memorial Day weekend.  Including those from AFN Europe, AFVN and AFTN who died fighting for America. 

I am sad to say two of AFVN’s finest NCOs have died recently.  SGM Manny Harper and CMSgt Ed Gleisberg.  We will remember them and far too many others during the TAPS portion of our Legends Dinner.
